• Band provides an emotional outlet that can help build confidence and self esteem.
• Band is for everyone - you learn everything you need to know in band class (during the school day).
• Band teaches you all kinds of life skills - patience, self discipline, delayed gratification, time management, organization, perseverance, good work ethic, etc.
• Band strengthens your brain and helps train your creativity, counting, math, and multitasking.
• Studies have shown that learning to play an instrument enhances a student's academic performance in math, language arts, foreign language, and other academic areas.  Even standardized test scores such as the SAT are higher among musicians. (Can you say SCHOLARSHIPS?)
